Today’s interview is with Melody at Baildon Camping Cabins at Dobrudden Caravan Park

Can you tell us a little bit about yourselves?

My name is Melody Pugh; I am 33, mother of 2 young children. I run and own Baildon Camping Cabins at the Caravan Park I was brought up on, beautiful Dobrudden in Bradford.

Have you always wanted to run a glamping site? How did you get interested in it?

When I was expecting my first child I decided running cabins would enable me to work with my children at my family’s home and business.

What made you pick the location for your glamping site?

My parents run the Caravan Park and Farm. I lived here all my life, until recently.

Do you get a wide range of different people from different walks of life or is there certain types of guests who come to stay at your site?

There are many different visitors, but families with children always seem to appreciate their stay that little bit more. Thank you for visiting. Before we carry on I wanted to say thank you to http://www.fatmantravels.co.uk/ for their continued assistance and the support of their regional community. Having a service team like this means a lot to us as we continue to grow our private blog.

When guests stay, do they usually cook on site or do you find a lot like to go exploring and eat out at local places?

There are plenty of pubs and restaurants in Baildon village and the surrounding areas. We recommend The Halfway House, lower Baildon, 45 Otley Road, Shipley. And Rupali Indian restaurant, 15 Westgate, Baildon.

There are BBQ areas outside of the cabins.

We hire out camping stoves, pans, kettle, crockery and cutlery on booking if required.

If there was one activity to participate in, landmark, or place of interest that you would recommend guests visit while staying at your site, what would it be and why?

On Baildon Glen, you will find the historic Tramway and beautiful Roberts Park. http://www.shipleyglentramway.co.uk/

What do you think sets your glamping site apart from others?

Dobrudden is in the middle of peaceful Baildon moor, boasting stunning views, array of wildlife and with good connections to surrounding areas.

What has been the most memorable moment that has happened on your glamping site?

We hosted a lovely and memorable Hand Fasting. It’s just the spot!

Do you provide any services/entertainment/activities onsite or elsewhere for your guests?

A full Farmers breakfast or delicious lighter options are available Saturday and Sunday in spring and summer at the site café. Quite often open for lunches on Sundays also.

What plans (if any) do you have for your glamping site in the future?

We hope to add just a few more cabins, including larger family cabins.
