Discoverglamping.com interview With Dereck and Cheryl at Norfolk Yurt Holiday

Can you tell us a little bit about yourselves?

Both Cheryl & i are in our 50s and are from Essex.

Have you always wanted to run a glamping site? How did you get interested in it?

We have always liked the outdoor life and purchased a farm house about 14 years ago and converted 2 barns into holiday lets. We got interested in yurts about 5 years ago, when we hired a yurt in Cornwall and loved it so much we purchased the Walnut & Willow yurt to go in a spare paddock.

What made you pick the location for your glamping site?

We moved to the area of Norfolk in 2000.

Do you get a wide range of different people from different walks of life or are there certain types of guests who come to stay at your site?

We have had guests from 80 years to only 6 weeks old.

When guests stay, do they usually cook on site or do you find a lot like to go exploring and eat out at local places?

Our guests tend to use the cabin kitchen or BBQ on site to cook their meals.

If there was one activity to participate in, landmark, or place of interest that you would recommend guests visit while staying at your site, what would it be and why?

We are only 5 mins from the beach & Norfolk Broads so lots of wild life & plenty to see and do.

What do you think sets your glamping site apart from others?

Yurters love the very private yurt paddock that we offer guests.
